Frequently Asked Questions

What does a financial planner actually do?

Think of us as your financial personal trainer and navigator. We look at your entire financial picture—investments, taxes, retirement planning, insurance, and estate planning—and build a cohesive strategy to help you achieve your life goals. We don’t just manage money; we help you build a roadmap for your future.

Not at all. We believe everyone deserves quality financial advice. While some firms require a high minimum investment, we offer flexible services—including hourly consulting and project-based planning—to help you build your wealth from the ground up.

Typically, we meet 2 to 4 times during the initial planning phase to gather data, review your current situation, and present your custom plan. Once your plan is implemented, we recommend checking in semi-annually or annually to review performance and adjust for any major life changes (marriage, new job, retirement, etc.).

Your first consultation is entirely complimentary and pressure-free. You don’t need to bring a mountain of paperwork. Just bring an open mind, your top financial questions, and a general idea of your income, debts, and current savings.

Yes, 100% of the time. Being a fiduciary means we are legally and ethically bound to act in your best interest. We do not recommend products because they pay us a kickback; we recommend them because they are genuinely the best choice for your financial goals.

We operate on a Fee-Only basis. This means our only source of compensation comes directly from you, our client. We do not accept commissions, hidden fees, or third-party referral rewards. We charge in three ways depending on your needs:

  • Flat Fee: For comprehensive, one-time financial plans.
  • Hourly Rate: For specific, targeted questions or short-term advice.
  • Assets Under Management (AUM): A small percentage (typically around 1% annually) if you choose to have us directly manage your investment portfolio.

We never take physical custody of your money. Your assets will be held with a secure, institutional third-party custodian (such as Charles Schwab, Fidelity, or Vanguard). You will always have direct, 24/7 online access to your accounts.
